Meet James

After a career in the United States Marine Corps elite Special Operations Command, the Ranching way of life brought me new purpose and a refreshing everyday perspective.

Three years ago I sat in a truck as a newly transitioned veteran bumping along in the early morning to gather cows for my very first time. The truck slowed to a halt for the boss to talk to an old cowboy on the side of the road. “I have two hands today” he said. I looked around the truck and saw 6 of us crammed in there together. As hilarious as it sounds he counted none of us in his numbers of reliance to get the day done. It bothered me if I’m honest. It instilled a need to be useful once again. A relentless desire to do more. Ranching saved my soul when I left the military. Saved it from thinking the best days of my life had already passed.

Now living  and working the  western lifestyle and one in which I  also can passionately capture and share through the lens of a camera. I proudly raise my two daughters with my wife in a remote area of Idaho on our own first generation ranch. It is from this life that inspiration and content flow authentically and freely. Authenticity is not something that can be made in a studio or on a set, it is molded from the calloused and cracked hands of a life that someone lives. Im thankful to be able to share a small part of that through the people and places I have come to love.
